Tremblant de peur comme un enfant dans le noir

Cet amour qui fessait peur aux autres

Cet amour guetté

Traqué, blessé, piétiné, achevé, nié, oublié

And yet so scorned.

Trembling with fear like a child in the dark

Yet so sure of itself

Like a man at peace in the middle of the night

This love that makes others scared

That makes them talk

That makes them recoil

This love preyed upon

Preyed upon by us

Hunted, wounded, trampled upon, finished with, denied, forgotten

Because we hunted, wounded, trampled upon, finished with, denied, forgot it

This love in its entirety

So full of life and still so bright

It's yours, it's mine.

That which was

That which is still new

And that which has not changed

As thriving as a plant

As quivering as a bird

As warm and as vibrant as a summer’s day

We can both

Leave and come back

We can forget

Then go back to sleep

We wake up, we suffer, we grow old

And we fall back to sleep

We dream about death

We awaken, smile, laugh and grow young again

Our love remains resolute

As stubborn as a mule

As aroused as desire

As cruel as memory

As foolish as regret

As tender as nostalgia

As cold as marble

As beautiful as the break of day

As fragile as a child.
